Aerodynamix Invitational 2026: Diamond Sweeps Div 2 Team Title at Every Level From 3 to 7

DIAMOND SWEEPS EVERY DIVISION 2 TEAM TITLE

Diamond Gymnastics Club won the Division 2 team event at every level from 3 through 7, five team titles in a single weekend. The closest of them came first: in Level 3 Division 2, Diamond beat Edge Gymnastics's Silver team by just 0.1, 107.025 to 106.925. The margins only grew from there.

Eclipse Gymnastics Ringwood was the closest anyone came to interrupting the sweep, finishing runner-up to Diamond in three straight divisions, Levels 5, 6 and 7. Diamond's individual gymnasts backed the team results up too: Mia Michelson won Level 5 Division 2's all-around on 36.725, Lena Schreiber won Level 6 Division 2 on 35.1, and Bonnie Elliott won Level 7 Division 2 on 42.55.

Diamond posted its own celebration on Facebook, calling it "an incredible weekend for our ALP Level 1-7 squads" and singling out its newest gymnasts: "a special congratulations to our Level 1 and 2 gymnasts, who are still so new to competitive gymnastics. Watching their confidence continue to grow, their routines become stronger and their excitement shine through was so rewarding."

MLC HAS DIVISION 1 TO ITSELF

MLC Gymnastics Club was the only club entered in Division 1 at Levels 5, 6 and 7, so all three fields, and both team events among them, were MLC-only affairs. That doesn't take anything away from the scores. In Level 7 Division 1, Miranda Hale posted 46.8, vault 11.9, bars 12.35, beam 10.7, floor 11.85, the highest individual all-around score of the entire competition, ahead of clubmate Rachel Zhang on 45.1. MLC's team totalled 136.95.

In Level 5 Division 1, Azalea Wong won on 37.25, and MLC's own Green and Silver squads filled both team places, 106.45 to 104.425. In Level 6 Division 1, Edith Anderson won on 35.35 as MLC's team posted 104.725.

CASEY FILLS SEVEN OF TWELVE IN A LOPSIDED LEVEL 6 DIVISION 3

Casey Gymnastics dominated Level 6 Division 3, taking seven of the field's twelve individual placings: Paige Oravec won it outright on 34.0, with clubmates Alice Augustus, Magdelene Thoo and Zaidee Fullard filling 3rd through 5th. The only gymnast to break up the top five was Mordialloc's Kyla Sammut, runner-up on 33.35. Only two teams were entered in the division's team event, and both were Casey's, taking 1st and 2nd, 100.25 to 96.825.

Oravec's win did more than top the field, it was also her second cutoff clearance of the season in this division, more on that below.

AROUND THE FLOOR

East Gippsland Gym Club had a big Level 5 Division 3, filling four of the top seven all-around places behind winner Livinia Green of MYC Gymnastics: Kasey Richardson was 2nd, Priya Waddell 4th, Annie Rickhuss 5th and Mischa Waddell 7th. East Gippsland's Silver team backed that up, winning the division's team event on 100.6, well clear of Casey's 96.45 in 2nd.

A couple more team races went down to the wire. In Level 3 Division 3, East Gippsland's sole team held off Nunawading's Black and Yellow squads by just 0.325, 102.475 to 102.15, with Nunawading taking 2nd (Savni, Amelia and Jiya) and 3rd (Katherine, Lili and Adriana). Waverley Gymnastics Centre went 1st and 2nd in Level 4 Division 1 with its Blue and Red teams, 108.875 to 108.175, and also took 1st and 3rd in Level 3 Division 1. Posting on Facebook, Waverley called it a "weekend full of outstanding performances and podium finishes," highlighting improved routines and growing confidence across its younger squads.

Edge Gymnastics won the Level 4 Division 3 team title outright on 107.375 and posted on Facebook, "Amazing effort girls, your hard work is paying off!!!" Knox Gym Club's Level 3 Division 2 Red team, Alice, Bella and Elouise, finished 6th on bars in what the club called their second competition of the season, praising Coach Gabby for the result. MYC Gymnastics fielded squads across Levels 3, 4, 5 and 7, writing that its Division 2 and 3 girls "shone… putting out great performances, adding in new skills and making fantastic memories." Its Gold team backed that up with 3rd in the Level 7 Division 2 team event, and Brylee Whitten posted the field's best bars score in the same division. Geelong YMCA Gym Club said it "couldn't be prouder" of its junior athletes after the weekend.

PROMOTION WATCH

Casey's Paige Oravec is the headline here. Her winning 34.0 in Level 6 Division 3 clears that division's cutoff for the second time this season, after 35.75 at the Casey Cup on 25 July, putting her up for promotion to Division 2.

Edge's Level 4 Division 3 team is also on the board for a second time, 107.375 at Aerodynamix after 107.85 at the Niddrie Invitational (Levels 3-4) on 11 July, both well clear of the 103.5 cutoff. We don't track individual gymnasts within team events, so we can't confirm the lineup was unchanged between the two, and a different squad at either start would reset the count under Gymnastics Victoria's rule, but if it's the same group, there's a possible promotion coming for Edge's Level 4s too.

Everyone else on the list cleared for the first time this season. Diamond's Mia Michelson went well past Level 5 Division 2's 36.0 cutoff with her winning 36.725. In Level 4 Division 3, both of Casey's teams got over the 103.5 mark, Silver on 106.2 and Blue on 104.4, after both fell just short of it at the Casey Cup a week earlier (102.95 and 103.325).

The closest miss of the weekend belonged to the division winner: MYC's Livinia Green topped Level 5 Division 3 but finished just 0.15 short of its 34.0 cutoff on 33.85.
