Eclipse Invitational 2026: Host Club Goes 1-2 in Level 10 as Diamond Owns Level 7

Eclipse Gymnastics Ringwood hosted the 2026 Eclipse Invitational on Saturday 22 August, eight sessions covering Levels 3 through 10. Apologies for the delay getting this one out, Gymnastics Victoria had the results tucked away under the Trampoline section of its website rather than WAG, so they took some tracking down. Big thanks to Natalie, one of our awesome community members, who spotted them and pointed us in the right direction. Let's break it down level by level.

LEVEL 3: GYMNASTICS UNLIMITED TOPS THE BIGGEST TEAM FIELD

As always, just the team results for Level 3. Pulse Gymnastics won Division 1's four-team field on 106.75, comfortably clear of both Waverley squads (104.975 and 104.95) and MYC Gymnastics (96.325). Diamond Gymnastics Club won Division 2's ten-team field on 107.7, ahead of Niddrie's White squad (106.0) and Pulse's Teal squad (105.9); Niddrie fielded three more squads further down that same field.

Division 3 was the day's biggest team field at any level, thirteen squads. Gymnastics Unlimited Aust Ltd took 1st and 3rd, with PIT Gymnastics's White squad splitting the podium in between: Gymnastics Unlimited's Red squad won on 100.9, PIT 2nd on 100.55, and Gymnastics Unlimited's own Blue squad 3rd on 100.525. Mildura Gymnastics Centre finished 10th on 95.3, but had plenty to celebrate regardless: several of its gymnasts were stepping onto a competition floor for the very first time. Well done, and we're looking forward to seeing you progress in the coming seasons.

LEVEL 4: EDGE AND CASEY'S SILVER SQUAD TOP THEIR DIVISIONS

Niddrie's Aqua squad took Division 1 on 110.2, just ahead of Waverley's Red squad (109.675) and its own Navy squad (109.475) in a tight three-way battle.

Edge Gymnastics won Division 2 on 110.275, clearing the Division 1 promotion cutoff of 109.5, ahead of Diamond (108.3) and Niddrie's Navy squad (106.925). More on what that clearance means for Edge below in Promotion Watch.

Division 3 ran across two sessions. In the first, PIT's White squad won on 105.9, clearing the 103.5 cutoff, ahead of its own Aqua squad (103.1) and Bentleigh McKinnon (102.675). In the second, Casey Gymnastics's Silver squad won on 106.575, clearing the cutoff again after missing it by just 0.2 at the Waverley Classic a week earlier (103.3); the squad had also cleared it back on 1 August at the Aerodynamix Invitational, so this is its second clearance of the season rather than its first. Mildura's White squad was 2nd in that session on 103.05, itself just 0.45 short of the same cutoff, matching the club's own description of "huge personal achievements" for its Level 4 gymnasts on the day.

LEVEL 5: NIDDRIE GOES 1-2 IN DIVISION 2, PIT'S JANELLE SAGAYCA POSTS THE DIVISION'S TOP SCORE

Level 5 Division 1 fielded 32 gymnasts, the second-largest individual field of the day. Pulse's Nisa Besnek won it on 36.525, having climbed and then held steady across her last three results (35.3, 36.574, 36.525). Niddrie's Elena Sebastian and Zara Ahmad tied for 2nd on 36.45. Pulse's Teal squad won the team event on 109.9, ahead of its own White squad (108.825) and Niddrie's White squad (108.475).

Division 2 belonged to Niddrie in the day's largest individual field, 38 gymnasts. Skylar Jolevski won on 36.525, with clubmate Anjili Palta 2nd on 36.425, both clearing the division's 36.0 promotion cutoff for the second time this season. Niddrie's White squad backed it up with the team title, 106.7.

Division 3 ran across two sessions. PIT's Janelle Sagayca won the first session on 36.45, the highest score in the entire division across both sessions. Willow Dyer was 3rd in that session for Casey on 34.35. In the second session, Pulse's Grace Brownley won on 34.475. PIT's team won the first session (105.45), and BTYC won the second (102.075).

LEVEL 6: SUNNADENIYA HOLDS OFF LEE BY 0.05, MCMAHON WINS BUT MISSES THE CUTOFF

Division 1 produced the tightest finish of the level: Niddrie's Sasindee Sunnadeniya won on 37.05, just 0.05 ahead of BTYC's Kotomi Lee (37.0). Both gymnasts made the step up from Level 5 to Level 6 for the 2026 season, and Sunnadeniya has yet to finish off the podium at the new level. Niddrie filled three more spots in the top five (Natasha Knuvers 3rd, Aurora Gazzo 4th, Sarah Maruo 5th) and won the team event by a wide margin, 111.675 to BTYC's 107.05.

Niddrie's Reina McMahon won Division 2 on 35.8, a repeat of last year's Eclipse Invitational win at Level 5 Division 2. Diamond won the team event on 102.025, just ahead of Niddrie's White squad by 0.225.

Gymnastics Unlimited's Tiana Razmoska won Division 3 on 34.1. PIT's Katja Mulovski (4th, 33.55) and Freya O'Reilly (5th, 33.525) were split by just 0.025 in the all-around. The club's own post afterwards praised the pair for supporting each other across the whole competition. O'Reilly finished just ahead of Mulovski on vault, 9.2 to 9.1. Strive Gymnastics won the team event, 104.95.

LEVEL 7: DIAMOND TAKES A TEAM TITLE AND HALF THE PROMOTION CLEARANCES

Division 1's ten-gymnast field was dominated by MLC Gymnastics Club. Miranda Hale won on 47.6, capping a jump from Level 5 last season straight to Level 7 this year, and clubmate Kristen Canoy was 2nd on 46.6. Rachel Zhang and Pulse's Scarlett Alessi tied 3rd on 44.85, and MLC's team won by almost nine points over Waverley, 139.25 to 130.55. Further down the ranking, Waverley's Keren Chang posted a personal best on vault with 11.55, beating the 11.4 she'd scored twice already this season.

Division 2 ran across two sessions. Diamond's Bonnie Elliott won the first session on 45.6. Pulse's Frankie Dove was 2nd (44.4), PIT's Maddison Sheather 3rd (44.3), Diamond's Ruby Tossavainen 4th (44.25), host club Eclipse's own Tiahn Falla 5th (44.15), and Diamond's Felicity Kinna-Tillbrook 6th (44.0). Diamond's team won the session on 134.1, comfortably clear of Pulse (130.55).

The second session went to Niddrie's Sienna Seyis on 43.25, just short of the cutoff, with BUGS Gymnastics's Kaitlin Chiang 2nd (43.0) and Niddrie's Charlotte Uberti 3rd (42.7). Niddrie fielded three teams in that session, White winning on 126.35 ahead of its own Navy squad (125.55) in 2nd and Aqua squad in 6th.

LEVEL 8: WAVERLEY'S DA COSTA TURNS THE TABLES ON CLUBMATE JIN

Division 1 was a small field, four gymnasts, but a loaded one. Waverley training partners Gabriella Da Costa and Maria Jin had finished the other way around at Waverley Classic just eight days earlier, Jin winning on 46.7 with Da Costa 3rd on 45.35. At Eclipse the result flipped: Da Costa won on 48.55, with Jin 2nd on 46.65. Da Costa's score was the second-highest individual all-around total of the entire Eclipse Invitational, behind only Indianna Gilson's Level 10 win below. Waverley was the only full team fielded in the division, scoring 136.75.

Division 2 went to Pulse's Charlotte Debono on 41.4, her first competition win in our results database across seventeen recorded results going back to 2024, and a marked turnaround from an 8th-place finish just a week earlier at Waverley Classic (40.45). Pulse's Blake Fairbairn (2nd, 40.9) and Maya Kenny (3rd, 40.8) backed her up, and the club's White and Teal squads went 1-2 in the team event, 123.05 to 120.75.

LEVEL 9: PRONESTI ANNOUNCES HERSELF WITH A WIN IN ONLY HER SECOND START

Only Division 2 ran at Level 9, six gymnasts and no team event. Pulse's Miarose Pronesti won on 42.35, backing up a 4th place at Waverley Classic eight days earlier. We don't know much about her history before that, our database only has two results for Pronesti so far. Waverley's Greta Brown was 2nd on 39.65 and Werribee's Tiah Olcorn 3rd on 37.85.

LEVEL 10: GILSON AND WINDER PUT ON A SHOW FOR THE HOME CROWD

Division 1's three-gymnast field was a home-club affair. Indianna Gilson won on 48.75, the highest individual score of the entire Eclipse Invitational, backing up her win back in May at the Waverley Invite and a season of recent podium finishes. Clubmate Ella Winder was 2nd on 45.6, her first result in our database, an auspicious debut. Jets Gymnastics's Maleila Audino was 3rd on 40.85. No team event ran in the division.

Division 2 went to Nunawading's Jessica Callander on 43.1, a repeat Eclipse Invitational champion, she also won this competition's Level 9 Division 2 title back in 2025. Waverley's Hayley Browne was 2nd (41.9) and Nunawading's own Helena Ong 3rd (41.5). Nunawading's team backed up Callander's win, taking the team title on 126.05 ahead of Niddrie (116.25).

Back on the competition floor after more than eighteen months of surgery and rehab from an ACL injury, Niddrie's Taneisha Caruso finished 10th on 38.25 in Level 10 Division 2, her first result in our database since 2024. Clubmate Piper Cheswick finished 15th on 36.8, having competed at Level 8 all season, a two-level jump the club put down to her stepping up to share the floor with friends and teammates.

PROMOTION WATCH

Gymnastics Victoria's rule is that a gymnast or team scoring at or above their division's cutoff score twice in a season must move up a division. Twenty scores cleared a cutoff at the Eclipse Invitational, spread across Levels 4 to 7, and Level 7 Division 2's first session alone accounted for six of them.

Edge Gymnastics's Level 4 Division 2 team and Casey Gymnastics's Level 4 Division 3 Silver squad are the two worth watching closest. Edge cleared the Division 1 promotion cutoff of 109.5 at the Knox Junior WAG Invitational back on 18 July (111.25) and again here at Eclipse (110.275), missing only at Waverley Classic in between (108.025). Casey's Silver squad cleared its Division 2 promotion cutoff of 103.5 at the Aerodynamix Invitational back on 1 August (106.2) and again here at Eclipse (106.575), missing only at Waverley Classic in between (103.3, just 0.2 short), the same pattern as Edge. Both squads now have two clearances on the season, though we don't track individual gymnasts within team events, so we can't confirm the same lineup fielded every time, meaning both are possible promotions rather than certain ones.

Most of the rest are first-time clearances, but a few carry more of a story. PIT's Janelle Sagayca cleared the Level 5 Division 3 cutoff at Waverley Classic on 14 August and again here just eight days later, close enough together that our understanding is GV's promotion rule gave her some leeway to stay in Division 3 for this one, though we don't have full visibility into the exact policy. That makes it her third clearance from three starts this season, the most of anyone at Eclipse, and we'd expect to see her up in Division 2 by her next start. Willow Dyer, also of Casey, missed the Level 5 Division 3 cutoff by 0.075 at the Casey Cup back in July before finally clearing it at Waverley Classic and again here. Diamond's Bonnie Elliott backed up a clearance at Waverley Classic (44.55) with another one at Eclipse (45.6), the latest step in a five-competition run that dipped before climbing to 45.6 (43.05, 42.55, 42.632, 44.55, 45.6), and Niddrie's Skylar Jolevski and Anjili Palta did the same in Level 5 Division 2, backing up clearances from the Niddrie Invitational and Judge's Invitational respectively.
