Casey Cup 2026: Diamond Sweeps Four Team Titles as Host Casey Rules Its Own Level 6 Division 3

Casey Gymnastics hosted the 2026 Casey Cup over the weekend of 25 July, drawing eleven clubs across Levels 3 to 7 for eleven team titles and 142 individual all-around entries in the results we track, part of what the host club itself called a weekend with "over 300 talented gymnasts from ALP levels 1-7." It was one of three WAG competitions running that same weekend, alongside the Jets July Invitational and the Y Invitational. The boys were busy too, over on the same weekend at BTYC's MAG Junior Invitational, so there was no shortage of scoreboards to watch across the state.

DIAMOND'S FOUR-DIVISION SWEEP

Diamond Gymnastics Club had the most complete team day of any club at the Casey Cup, winning four of the competition's eleven team titles spread across four different levels. Its Level 3 Division 2 team posted Diamond's biggest margin of the day, winning by 3.125 (106.75), and the Level 4 Division 2 team held off Aerodynamix by just 0.275, 107.525 to 107.25, one of the tightest team finishes of the weekend. The Level 5 Division 2 team won by 0.125 over Maffra Gymnastic Club, 106.8 to 106.675, and in Level 7 Division 2 its team posted 130.35, beating Pulse by 1.9.

Diamond backed up that team form individually too. Mia Michelson won Level 5 Division 2 with 35.575, just 0.075 clear of teammate Evie Van Pampus, and Lena Schreiber won Level 6 Division 2 with 35.175. In Level 7 Division 2, Bonnie Elliott finished runner-up on 43.05, and further down that same field, Audrey Nero, 13th overall in the all-around, still won the vault title outright and placed third on bars, per the club's own results breakdown, a reminder that a division's overall standings don't always tell the apparatus story.

HOST CLUB RULES ITS OWN FLOOR

Casey Gymnastics made the most of its home floor. In Level 6 Division 3, Casey's two teams finished first and second, Casey Silver posting 105.3 and Casey Blue 104.875, and individually the club filled six of the division's top seven all-around places: Paige Oravec won it outright on 35.75, Zaidee Fullard was runner-up on 35.55, then Ava Metcalfe (4th), Evie O'Regan (5th), Magdelene Thoo (6th) and Amaya Kemp (7th). Only Aerodynamix's Eva Holland, third on 34.975, broke up the sweep.

It wasn't only a Level 6 Division 3 story. Casey fielded teams across every level from 3 to 7, and came within 0.175 of a second promotion-cutoff clearance in Level 4 Division 3, where Casey Blue's 103.325 fell just short of the 103.5 mark that Melbourne Acrobatic Gymnastics Academy cleared outright in that same division (more on that below).

PULSE'S ALL-AROUND FORM

If Diamond owned the team events, Pulse Gymnastics owned the individual honour roll. Its gymnasts won four of the competition's eight all-around titles, starting with the tightest finish of the entire Level 5 Division 1 field: Ritvi Balayan and Emilie De Fazio tied for first on 35.7 apiece, with Zoe Armstrong and Sofia Parente also tying for second, on 35.525. Pulse's Level 5 Division 1 team backed that up with a 1-2 finish, Pulse Teal on 107.125 and Pulse White on 106.425.

Pulse's other two all-around titles came in fields all its own. Scartlett Alessi won the sole entry in Level 7 Division 1 with 43.45, and Ruby Privitelli topped the 32-strong Level 7 Division 2 field on 43.85, just 0.15 short of that division's promotion cutoff despite the win.

CLOSEST CALLS OF THE WEEKEND

Level 5 Division 3 produced the tightest margin of the whole competition: Aerodynamix's Ella Tilley won on 35.825, just 0.025 ahead of Pulse's Adrielle Cardenas on 35.8. Level 6 Division 2 wasn't far behind, Lena Schreiber's winning 35.175 held off River Morgan by just 0.05.

The closest call of all wasn't even between two clubs. Dolphin Gymnastics Club's two Level 3 Division 3 teams, Dolphin Red and Dolphin Blue, finished fifth and sixth just 0.05 apart, 100.95 to 100.9. Both actually out-scored the Dolphin team that won Level 3 Division 3 at the BTYC Junior Invite two weeks earlier (99.75), in a considerably tougher eleven-team field this time round.

PROMOTION WATCH

Gymnastics Victoria's rule is that a gymnast or team scoring at or above their division's cutoff score twice in a season must move up a division. Casey Cup produced the busiest Promotion Watch of the season so far, fourteen gymnasts and one team cleared a cutoff, most of them for the first time.

MAGA's Level 4 Division 3 team might be up for a possible promotion, having now cleared the cutoff twice, 105.85 at the Knox Invite on 18 July and 105.25 at the Casey Cup, both clear of the 103.5 mark. So it all depends on whether they fielded the same team for both comps. We don't track individual gymnasts within team events, so we can't confirm the lineup was unchanged, and a different squad at either start would reset the count under GV's rule.

Everyone else on the list is a first-time clearance, but there are a lot of them. Level 5 Division 3's cutoff is 34.0, and seven gymnasts went over it at the Casey Cup: Ella Tilley and Cassie Hilder (both Aerodynamix), Adrielle Cardenas (Pulse), Venice Watson (Aerodynamix), Vimbiso Kamba (MAGA), Caia Anderson (Casey) and Aspen Marshall (Maffra). Level 6 Division 3 carries the same 34.0 cutoff and produced another seven, six of them Casey's own: Paige Oravec, Zaidee Fullard, Ava Metcalfe, Evie O'Regan, Magdelene Thoo and Amaya Kemp, plus Aerodynamix's Eva Holland. None of the fourteen has an earlier qualifying score in my results database at this level and division, so the Casey Cup was the first hurdle for all of them; one more result like this for any of them would put them in promotion territory.

Not everyone got there. Casey's Willow Dyer finished 8th in Level 5 Division 3 on 33.925, just 0.075 short, the closest miss of the weekend. Aerodynamix's Maisie Ward and Sammy Thorn tied 8th in Level 6 Division 3 on 33.825, 0.175 short. And as noted above, Casey's own Level 4 Division 3 team, Casey Blue, came within 0.175 of a team clearance too.

ELSEWHERE IN THE FIELD

Casey Cup was a first for plenty of gymnasts, not just a promotion first. MYC Gymnastics' Level 3 squad went first and second, MYC Navy and MYC Gold, and per the club's own post, "for many of these gymnasts it was their first ever external competition." Not a bad way to start.

Eclipse Gymnastics Ringwood's Level 5 Division 3 squad had a quieter day on the leaderboard, ninth of nine teams, but every one of its four gymnasts improved on their score from the Knox Invite a week earlier. Olivia Edwards's jump was the biggest, from 27.95 to 32.55, while Alexis Milliken, Lena Wang and Jade Janssen all scored higher too.

Maffra Gymnastic Club made the trip from Gippsland and left with a Level 3 Division 3 team title of its own, Maffra Navy on 102.725, on top of the travel, and its Angelina Ryan improved her Level 6 Division 3 score from Knox to Casey Cup as well; sister Alyson Ryan also scored higher at Casey Cup, 32.4 up from 31.125 at Knox.

Edge Gymnastics brought a small Level 5 and Level 7 squad to Casey Cup, and its two Level 7 gymnasts punched above their overall placings on individual apparatus. Lily Venning finished 5th in the all-around, and her 10.6 on beam tied for third-best in the entire 32-strong Level 7 Division 2 field, behind only Diamond's Ruby Tossavainen (11.2) and Pulse's Ruby Privitelli (10.7). Teammate Scout Richardson finished well down the standings in 19th, but her 11.55 on floor was the fifth-best in that same field. Further down that big field, MYC's Brylee Whitten had a tough day on the overall standings, however, she did manage to grab the silver for bars.

A BIG WEEKEND ACROSS THE STATE

Casey Cup shared its weekend with two other WAG competitions, the Jets July Invitational and the Y Invitational at Geelong YMCA Gym Club. The boys were also busy the same weekend, over at BTYC's MAG Junior Invitational.
